About the event:
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend is the community’s signature running and fitness celebration. Entering its fifth decade, the weekend features runs for participants of all ages and paces. The community-inclusive event also includes live art, course entertainment, the Summit Beer Garden, and welcomes non-participants to join the 300,000+ cheering spectators who line the race courses each year.

Initiatives for children and families: TC Kids Run Free Program: 3600+ and Counting!
As the first installment of a larger initiative to make nonprofit TCM’s events accessible to all, kids 18 years old and under can enter Twin Cities In Motion events in-person at no cost! In 2022, the program’s inaugural year, more than 3600 kids ran free in TCM events.
With the TC Kids Run Free program, supported by TCM Members and donors, young runners can register for in-person 5K and longer races free via regular online registration. They will earn the same medals and gear provided to adults participating in the event and have access to race amenities.
Younger kids looking for race distances shorter than 5K, typically TCM’s shortest road race distance, can sign up for free 1 mile, half a mile and pre-K-appropriate races organized in conjunction with all TCM events.
Youth running has long been a TCM nonprofit mission priority. The organization introduced its first youth race at the 1987 marathon and has grown its programming over the years.
