Starting in Pery Square at 9 am, runners embark on a journey through Limerick’s vibrant streets, tracing the banks of the majestic River Shannon, and venturing into the suburbs. As you run, landmarks like Thomond Stadium and many others punctuate the route, creating a visually stunning experience. Initiatives for children and families: Children’s Run for Fun 2024 – Limerick
Join us on a day of joy, laughter, and running in the heart of Limerick for our annual Children’s Run for Fun event! This year, we’re excited to invite families and young athletes to the University of Limerick on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, for an unforgettable experience of fun, fitness, and camaraderie.
Event Schedule:
11:00 AM – 4:30 PM: Race Pack Collection at UL Arena. If you haven’t received your race pack by the event day, please come to collect it at this time. Ensure you have your barcode ticket ready to help us quickly locate your order.
2:30 PM: Wheelchair Event on Track. We kick off the races with an inclusive event for our wheelchair participants.
3:00 PM: Junior & Senior Infants 1KM Route. The youngest runners take on a kilometer of fun and excitement.
3:45 PM: First, Second & Third Class 1.5 KM Route. School-aged children step up the challenge in this engaging race.
4:30 PM: Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Class 2 KM Route. Our oldest participants test their endurance in a 2-kilometer dash.
