About the event: The Santa Monica Mountains is a coastal mountain range in Southern California, paralleling the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Transverse Ranges, because of its proximity to densely populated regions, it is one of the most visited natural areas in California. The Ray Miller 50k is a beautiful trail race running on scenic trails in some of the most remote parts of the Santa Monica Mountains Back-country. They named the race Ray Miller as he spent years taking care of the trail system through out Point Mugu State Park, after he passed the park system named the main trail head from the La Jolla Canyon parking lot ofter him. Littered with mostly single track trails this is a trail runners dream course. With sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean throughout the day, this course is absolutely stunning, and every climb you will be rewarded with draw dropping views of the ocean and deep valleys. |
