Runners get their chance to run through the home of the blues and American roots music of every stripe in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon & Half Marathon, which tests the hardiness and dedication of more than 2,000 full marathoners and 5,000 half marathoners each December.

From the starting line at the corner of 4th and Beale Streets, in the heart of the city’s biggest tourist draw, both the half marathon and the full marathon head out on what is roughly a clockwise loop route through Memphis, taking runners past many of the city’s most famous sights, including Beale Street, Sun Studio, the National Civil Rights Museum, the Gibson Guitar Factory and more.

Register as a St. Jude Hero and help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

The marathon starts on B.B. King Blvd. between Beale St. and FedEx Forum. The route takes runners through Downtown Memphis and up 2nd Street to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital campus to greet patients and their families, before heading south on Front St. through the bustling South Main District. Runners will then head east to Danny Thomas Blvd. and north to picturesque North Parkway. Runners will enjoy the distinctive neighborhoods like Hein Park and Evergreen’s Stonewall St. whose cheer parties will keep your spirits up and energy level high. The route also includes a two loop-run through beautiful Overton Park. Runners will head back to Danny Thomas Blvd. and a return downtown via Union Ave. to celebrate at the finish line by AutoZone Park.
